Agrotourism in Cyprus
LANGUAGE CONQUESTS-EFL Agrotourism programme has been specially designed to combine language, culture and history to allow our learners to
experience a taste of what makes Cyprus a unique destination. It will give our travellers from Europe and other continents the chance to meet
Cypriots and experience the traditional activities, such as olive and grape picking, wine-tasting and traditional pottery-making.
Europeans and non-Europeans will gain insight into Cypriot culture and its history; learn about the local cuisine; visit archaeological sites
and Byzantine churches.
For accommodation, LANGUAGE CONQUESTS-EFL also provides E.U. funded traditional and authentically-restored stone houses to rent. Innovative day
trips and workshops for small groups are also organised to enable our travellers to discover first-hand the character and uniqueness of the places
visited which are away from mass tourism and close to heritage-based and experiential, hospitality tourism.
Business and Agrotourism Combined
One of Language Conquests-EFL Business English programmes involves a trip to the picturesque wine-growing village of Omodos, 42 kms north-west of
Limassol, at the foot of Troodos mountains. The trip includes a traditional lunch, a visit to a winery and a wine-tasting, a visit of the Timios
Stavros Monastery, a break at a traditional bakery and time for a stroll around the cobble-stoned streets of this charming historical village. A
look at the business side of things will be taken during a meeting with the owner of an EU-funded shop selling traditional lace only made in Omodos.
For all our programmes, a half-day walking tour lesson is included in the package. The walk takes our learners through narrow streets where the local
history unfolds itself as they view monuments of the past, traditional workshops, unique architectural features and feel part of the bustling life
of the old market.
